Well I have finally found time to sit down and email those who wanted the info on this CAM. The last CAM I took out was a COMP 262H. Not good for power accessaries such as ac. Also I'm past the age of neck breaking shifts.
As mentioned this is the third CAM in this 402 so its apparent I need to take a course in CAM 101. Although I called Comp to ask info about the right CAM for my truck I was dissappointed both times as both were way to wild for my taste. Since I'm mechanically deficient it might have been just as much my mistake as theirs for selecting the wrong CAM. The guy that really helped me was a guy at Autozone...even though they did not sale Lunati CAM's he took time out to explain what would best meet my needs and then gave me the specs to look for and Summitt took care of the rest. Lets hear it for Autozone!!!!
This CAM is just right as it has a mild "rump" yet it idles very well.

Valve LFT .500 .500
Lobe LFT .294 .294
ADV DUR .260 .260
LOBE CENT 106 114

Now to down size my front tires so they don't rub the lower control arm.

Are you running stock pistons/ comp ratio? That sounds like a nice cam! I'm getting a 396 for my 69, and know myself well enough that it will have a " rump " in the idle soon too! Ain't nuthin like havin a big block under foot!! I'm one of those people, that when I put my foot down, I want something to happen!!! I love the smell of burning rubber!!!! How old am I!!!???

Yes... the 402 was kept stock within the motor but I do have a Edelbrock Performance manifold and a 900 cfm Q Jet (I think). The two Comp Cams that I tried were way to wild for my taste. That's another reason that the Shift Kit was removed. Hope this helps.

Yep! knowing the inards are stock helps knowing the cam will work for me! 900 cfm carb?? Did you mean 600? I've never seen a 900 Q-jet, and tend to believe it would be way too rich for the motor.

I might be wrong but was not the stock Q Jet a 750 for the 402BB? I believe I have a 850 or 900 Edelbrock carb that I bought from summit. It's a Edelbrock Q Jet replacement carb. I cant find the papers but I will look it up.

It could be a 900, but that's a lot of carb for stock comp ratio! I'm surprised it runs smoothly. My last BB was a well massaged LS5 with 11.5 comp pistons running a 850 Holley, and that was plenty of carb.

I still may re-install my stock Q Jet after I get it refurbished. I have to get the tranny tuned up first and then I will see. The passing gear is not kicking in so I may need to look at this next. I'm doing the mechanicals first and body last. This is a learn as I go project but this board, WES's, and Pauls board have been a real help.

Glad you got a cam your happy with. That's real cool about you offering the other cam to someone for a donation to the board!!! Josh doesn't ask very often but I know this board has to be costly to keep up so my hats off to you for thinking about him.

If no one is interested in this cam I will put up for sale on ebay. It has no more then a couple hundred miles on it.
