Should I buy it? What to look for?
I'm looking at a 65 lwb 2wd,6cyl,3spd,power steering, man brakes that i would like to add to the stable. I have done quite a few 73 up chevys but ever a earlier one. What would be the biggest issues to check for? Seller sayes it runs good and drives but has no brakes. Let me know what you think.

Re: Should I buy it? What to look for?
Nice start,if you buy it just go ahead and put disc brakes on from the start! I sure wish I had taken my own advice. I completely rebuilt everything on my 64 and split the MC, but I still have drum brakes-gonna put disc on after christmas. I found out out I have more go than WHOA

Looks nice!
Rust in usual spots as it appears, rockers, front lower fenders fortunately most if not all of the typical rust areas have after market panels available now. Good luck, loks like it will make a nice driver... Posted via Mobile Device |

Looks like a pretty solid truck but you never know untill you look at it. It is definatly something worth looking at.

Re: Should I buy it? What to look for?
first of all WELCOME TO THE GANG!! your list should include looking at front fender wells at the fender attachment point, under the "brow" above the winshield, the "lip" of the rear wheel fender, the hood around the parking/turn lights, the foot wells around the "dimmer switch, and around the vents, look for the tell tale "bubbles", good luck with your project!!

Re: Should I buy it? What to look for?
Well I bought it. $650 bucks i think its a decent start. The thing that amazed me is how complete and stock the truck is. I'm thinking a disk brake changeover, some wide white walls, and slamming it to the ground, and some airbrushed door signs to promote my biz.

Re: Should I buy it? What to look for?
Congrats.......you're in good shape at 650. Brakes are not fun IMO but you can get everything for them and it'll be running and driving. Good score, and the doors havent been cut for speakers!!
