Fender emblem mounting

I'm fixing up some extra fenders for my 78 truck. My question is about the hole pattern for the fender emblems. Are they all the same for the various emblems ? I know this seems a foolish question, but I figure to turn up a pair of Silverado 30 emblems at the swap meets next summer and wonder if they will drop right in to the existing holes. Knowing this would allow me to go ahead and paint all the body panels knowing the holes were proper for any emblem.

Re: Fender emblem mounting

I am pretty sure there is only one bolt pattern. GM actually sold the new fenders with the holes already punched for the emblems.

Re: Fender emblem mounting

The holes were all the same. Otherwise we would have had to proliferate fenders just to use the different emblems.

Re: Fender emblem mounting

If you are going to install them before the emblems, try to find some barrel clips to hold the emblems in place. It's are dang near impossible to get to the back of the emblem with the fender on the truck.

Re: Fender emblem mounting

I appreciate the answers everyone.

What I'm doing is prepping and painting extra body panels for an old truck I'm restoring. I'm going to get the door, fenders and hood all painted up then install it onto the truck at one time.
