L6 Owners - Anyone have a starter bracket in place?
Calling all inline 6 owners!
Does anyone have a starter bracket in place on their engine? My 230 does not, but the service manual shows a simple angle bracket in place that goes from the top of the starter motor to the engine (it doesn't attach to the back of the starter motor like the V8 brackets do). The guy at the dealership looked through his old catalogs and couldn't find anything for the L6, but I have a threaded hole in the engine at about the right spot for a bracket so I'm just curious if anyone out there actually has one on their engine. I marked the threaded hole location in yellow in this pic I found on the board (ignore the green circle as that's from the original poster I stole the pic from). Anyway, I know the V8 guys can have a lot of troubles when their bracket is missing, but my starter seems to work fine so I'm not too worried. Just wondering if I should be looking for a missing part. Thanks for the help and Happy Friday!

Re: L6 Owners - Anyone have a starter bracket in place?
I have seen those brackets on L6 that are in cars but never on a Truck. My Dads 69 camaro with a 250 had one. My 69 GMC does not hoave one.

OK, good to know. I'm not going to worry about it then. Thanks for the help!
