Re: Trying to Understand.................

whats kinda interesting here is I totally don't get the import scene. the "fast and the furious" crowd. (although I like the movies). I would much rather have a slammed domestic with a big v8 rumbling the gravel away from the exhaust tips.

everyone has their thang. I think bone stock trucks are boring. Nice, but boring.

Re: Trying to Understand.................

haha, the last fast and furious was ok but the cars they used were some of the worst cars of any of the movies. (well except for the bad guys car, what was it, a 60's pontiac? I just remember it was a dark green)
I admire all the work that goes into a slammed truck, but I would never want one. 2-3 inches down or 3-6 inches up is about my limit.

Some like them low, some like them original. Some feel drums are just fine & were the standard for many years so there's no reason to make changes while others swap to discs immediately.

It all boils down to 'freedom of choice'. One is not necessarily better than the other in the big picture.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Re: Trying to Understand.................

As long as, when u get home from work and spend, what seems like an eternity, just staring at what you have accomplished with your brain and bare hands, and smile to yourself. That's why we do this. Slammed, lifted, stock, whatever it is, the memories are far more important. Rust doesn't sleep, but memories are forever.

Re: Trying to Understand.................

It's all about what you like, I built my truck about 8 years ago to be a old hot rod truck, the past year I have "cut" mine up trying to get it as low as possible. Notched rear end, z'd front 3 inches, drop spindles, and bags. It all about what you like, like irish1966 said when you can be proud of what you accomplished thats all that matters.
