Question 1990 Suburban /axle question??

I bought a 90 4wd Sub for parts. It has the auto hubs. My question is...do auto hubs work on their own or do I need to install the NP241 T-case in conjuction with the front axle. I have a shortbox that I was thinking of puting the axles under and like the auto hub idea. I don't want to use the NP241 though. I have a 350 Turbo with the 205 in the Shortbox. Thanks again fellas for your advice. Have a blessed day.

The auto hubs work on their own and have nothing to do with the transfer case. You should be able to do what you want to do.
