Put some door panels on the truck. Bought a bed light kit but won't put that in until I get the truck repainted this spring.

Pulled the hood off the truck and drained the radiator. Getting ready to pull the engine and trans this week if all goes well. Still nursing a sore back from shoveling all the freakin ice this last week, hopefully that gets better quick so I can dive into the engine project.

Made longer fuel line form reg to carb due to motor swap. Put #2 timing pill in msd box and took it to storage to drop off rest of stuff i picked up to do the breaks one day. Scared 3 year old daugter when i punched burb therw storage units. She loves when i do that.

Went camping with some friends, about froze to death overnight, and then gave the truck a bath this afternoon.

Re: What did you get done 2/6/11 Superbowl edition thread
Spent Saturday in the garage getting the S-10 frame that's going under my '50 prepped for surgery. Today I cut the frame in half and stretched it 10". The 10" section was filled with steel from the 50's original frame.
Of course I ran out of argon halfway through the frame welding. Ever notice how argon tanks manage to empty themselves on weekends?

Re: What did you get done 2/6/11 Superbowl edition thread
Well I did the same thing as I did last weekend. Media blasting my front suspesion parts. After gettin them all nice clean bare metal, I painted all the pieces with a fresh coat of paint. Came out looking just like GM did it. Yeah paint runs all over.
Took the wife up to Calavaras big trees and then had lunch in Arnold Ca. The wife enjoyed the day away. Hang on Green Bay Last edited by 1LowToy; 02-06-2011 at 09:54 PM. |

Stripped the interior out to hopefully have it in the upholstery shop by the end of the week. Looking at picking up a dash pad from Stitch.

Re: What did you get done 2/6/11 Superbowl edition thread
I finally had some down time and I worked on some interior jobs finally that have been put off because of my mother in laws passing and me and my family having to deal with that...
We also went and test drove a ton of cars for my wife...I'm pretty sure she's settled on a 2011 Audi A3...it's pretty kickass...has the TDI turbo diesel engine and the sport suspension...wouldn't think that diesel and sport would be in the same sentence, but it's pretty snappy...and the best thing of all, it has paddle shifters on the steering wheel...I'm gonna enjoy driving it... and I fell in love with a 2006 Chevy Crewcab 2500HD Duramax...it's really nice...has an Edge Race tuner on it, 5" exhaust, intake...it's pretty stout...it also has 9" of lift and 35" tires...the tires are pretty worn, so I'll be swapping them out for some 37s or 38s soon after I get it...as long as he doesn't sell it before I can get up there next week to get it... Re: What did you get done 2/6/11 Superbowl edition thread
Picked up a pair of 6.2 diesels, including a desireable red block. Watched 3 hours of competitive cheerleading (we came in 2nd in our division, would have come in 5th overall). Replaced the mirror my wife wiped off the van. Lubed her windows so they work (hint - silicone spray the heck out of the slides). Watched the game.
