Re: New Kid
Welcome to the board!
My dad gave me almost enough money to buy my first car when I was 57 years old! That's alright....he did co-sign for the first one, though. Looks like a nice project. Stay focused and motivated....something that isn't always easy to do when you're older and have other responsibilities. SactoJim may be able to offer you some suggestions, if you send him a PM...if you need any expert advice. He has a sweet ride.

Re: New Kid
i remember when i was saying that then i got started sanding and found alot of stuff i wish i didnt find mostly bad repairs not repaired just covered up with bondo but i dont meen to discourage you sometimes you luck out and the body under the paint is perfeclty fine and you dont get to learn how to sand out the bondo to bare metal and use body hammers and dollies to repair it. One piece of advice i will give you which you might already know is break it up panel by panel and do it in the morning when its not hot also keep the sand paper and panel wet so the paper doesnt clog up as quick.

Re: New Kid
Yah my truck is an org. CA truck to but my dads friend who had it before us did some weird stuff to it because it was just a parts truck like only my driver side door and fender and cab had molding on it the pass. side door and fender is from a 71 with no molding on it. Hopefully the weather will stay nice and i can get some up to date shots of it before break is over.

Re: New Kid
i wish i was builden a stepper since i am putting the factory trim it is impossible to find 67 68 swb fleetside trim if i was building a stepper i wouldnt need any it is amazing when people find 71 to72 fenders without trim holes just about every truck was a cheyenne it seems as if in 67 68 people were tight wads then in 69 everyone had money to spend

Re: New Kid
I know right seems like the only options my truck didn't have was a big block, AC, CST int., 4speed, and a Tach

Re: New Kid
Yah the deal I have with my dad was if I get it operable by the time I get my license its mine so thats the main reason I've been holding out on taking driver classes bc my truck still has a way to go and I'm 16 and a junior and I want it done by the first day of Senior year so I can drive it everyday.
