Going to a big show tomorrow
It's the biggest show in my area tomorrow, it's called The Stars and Stripes Show and it's just south of Manchester in the grounds of a large country house. Last year there was about 2000 American cars, motorhomes, bikes, trucks, military vehicles and some british classics.
Spent the day polishing my truck, cut back the paint on the hood, cleaned inside etc etc. Oil and plugs changed as well so she's running a lot better. Setting off early to get in before the queues get too long, weather is looking pretty poor about 50 deg and cloudy. Gonna be cruising the trade stands to see what I can pickup cheap. Wil tkae the digital amera and see what I can take some snaps of. Here's to loads of expensive horribly bad for you cholesterol laden fast food!

Had a great day, it didn't rain, was very cloudy but still got burnt. There was a huge number of cars, so many that they actually ran out of space on the field, the reckoned in excess of 2000. There was everything from a running barn find RHD 1928 hevrolet Sedan (for sale!) to an 03 Dodge Viper.
My truck was the only 67-72 at the show, there were some later Chevy trucks and blazers, a two owner ex texas '49 stepside 49, a couple of other 1950's trucks but no other 67-72's. Oh and fords and dodges etc . I was parked next to a 90's extended cab long bed chevy complete with 454, bags and some tuning goodies. Took a few pics but it was hard to get a photo that showed the scale of the show. There was everything from one of Elvis' caddys to an awesome late 60's Chrysler with a 528 stroker motor that does 0-60 in about 3.5 secs! There was even an "eve of D-Day" camp from the military enthusiasts with asorted military vehicles. I'll post a few snaps soon. Oh and I scored a cheap (for here anyway) used HEI distibutor.

Side view. It says Delco-Remy and Made In the USA on the cap and has the numbers 1103375 4HL opn the bodu of the distributor. I am assuming that this is a standard GM HEI unit. I believe this came out of a 350 from a Camaro, but has been sat around for a while, hence the dust on it. Is there anything I should do, or replace before I stick it in my truck?

Is this an annual event Lippyp? Just one day, or the whole weekend?
I'm planning on going to more meetings outside of the Netherlands, and the UK is high on my list, but I have no idea which of the meetings are worth visiting. Can you give me some tips? Can't wait to see the pictures. Cya, Edmond

This is a big truck....looks kinda home made as the bed sides don't quite match the curves on the cab and yes I know it's a ford

Edmond,
This is an annual event, this was the 15th year it's been run. It is on for the whole weekend and you can camp on the site. It is the biggest event in the North of England, but there are others nearer the south that are bigger and closer to you 9although I guess it depends how you'd come across). I have an events calendar in the magazine I subscribe to so I can let you have dates of all the big shows if that'll help you.

Yeah Phil, let's see some more of your truck! As to the distributor, I would suggest making a separate post to get the attention of some of the more knowledgable engine guys, and maybe put it on the engine and drivetrain forum also. I would check it over closely, and you will need new plug wires that match, and new plugs. Good luck, I know someone can give you better info on that distributor than I can.

I have the Classic American Magazine with listings in it of various meetings. Can you please point out the bigger ones, ones that go for the whole weekend, with camping sites? We will have to go by boot, because running on LPG I'm not allowed to cross the channel tunnel... Thanks in Advance. And yeah, show us more of your Truck! Cya, Edmond
