Weird question...
Bought my 66, but found out it was rather rusted. No big deal, because I can see most of the rust. However it looks like mice or critters got up behind my sun visor in behind the steel. How do I clear out these hollow areas. They crawled in from the bottom. Thanks..

Re: Weird question...
...you might try compressed air, but put on a face mask (medical type) first...

Re: Weird question...
now I am a little freaked out about the mice thing. Haven't been wearing a mask the entire time I have been cleaning. I hope nothing serious will result from it...never thought about rodents...

Re: Weird question...
I work at a car dealer, when we find a nest under the hood of a car as long as removal is not required to repair,we nform the customer and tell them when cannot remove it fro health reasons.

Re: Weird question...
Sometime's it is just part of it, nothing you can do about it now-I use to clean it out all the time with nothing when I was younger and dumber and nothing ever happened, but now I try to wear a mask-Older and have alergies. By the way here is my pic told you I was ok-well maybe a little side effects

Re: Weird question...
At least the serious illness from mice are non existent in georgia and alabama. That's good news. It's mainly in the north and midwest. Anyway...just paranoid now...

Re: Weird question...
well you can set some nice mouse traps and wait a few day ?? if that doesnt work try spraying some either up there and light a match , it will either blow them out of there , or open up the seams so you can get at them

Re: Weird question...
When I had my junkyard a can of carb cleaner and a lighter was standard equipment for dealing with wasp nests... I dont know how many times I would climb under a car ir under a hood and be face to face with a nest of those awful things...

Re: Weird question...
I wouldn't worry to much about it....but at the same time I'd be on the lookout for another possible project vehicle and use that one for parts

Re: Weird question...
Wild rodents spread HPS to people. The Sin Nombre virus is passed in the saliva, urine, and droppings of infected rodents. The virus can live for a few days in contaminated dirt and dust. People are infected when they breathe in tiny particles of these materials in dust from places where rodents are living and active. People can also be infected by handling contaminated materials and then touching the mouth or nose....not active , no problem ...

Re: Weird question...
well...the thing has freaked me out pretty good. I have been working on this thing for the last four weeks. Got it from alabama. So I have not seen or heard any evidence of live creatures. I mean I have really taken the thing apart. And then when I did the rocker panels and it was packed with dirt, dead bugs and a nest of sorts. Don't think any activity for a LONG time...

Re: Weird question...
okay...not as freaked anymore. The life of the virus is only about three days and these were definitely old mice beds. Thanks for your input...I am putting the hazmat suit away and cancelling the purchase for the air/ventilator mask...
