I did this 2 weeks ago. My buddy has a shop with an overhead crane on an I beam. The hardest part was busting the front mount bolts off, as an impact wrench wouldn't touch them. We used a 3" tie down strap through the cab and attached inside. We also used 2x4 blocks against the top of the doorway so we did not mangle up the drip rails. The center of gravity was different on both cabs, but we pulled the doors off of one and not the other. Thank goodness my friend had this crane I can't imagine doing this with just man power.

We used a forklift, but the same technique as used above. Be careful all the weight is to the front if you do not have any fuel in the cab tank. since we were going to paint the cab, we just put a 4" strap thru the cab with the doors closed and used a spreader bar to keep the weight off the drip rails. Oh yes we had the bed off also so we did not have to lift it as high to remove, just rolled the chasis out from under the cab.

Got the engine, tranny and dog house already pulled? If the answer is yes one member here simply jacked up the entire truck, put (4) jack stands under each corner of the cab, lowered the frame back down, removed the front tires/wheels, and using a floor jack under the front crossmember pulled the frame out from under the truck.

Pretty darn slick! He posted pictures but I sure can't seem to find them.

The other method is a bunch of helpers.
