I dropped my 71 C20 with 2 1/2 drop spindles in front & 5" drop coils from GMC Pauls in the rear. It looks level, just above the tires.

Re: best way to drop 3/4ton, any suggestions
If you have coil rear and want to haul with your truck the best option is airbags. That way you have the best of both worlds; good ride when empty and capacity when you need it. Airbags themselves only run about $75 per bag, its usually the rest of the system that is expensive. If you run schrader valves and fill the bags with a tire chuck then the setup is pretty cheap.
If you have leaves in back you can do what I did, pull 4 leaves in rear and cut 1.5 coils in front. Here is a writeup I did on mine http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=403279. since the drop mine rides a little smother in rear and about the same as stock in front. I've hauled as much as 3500 pounds in the bed since then, but anything over about a ton and it's on the bumpstops. If you wanted to increase the capacity you could add some helper bags.
