Header Option

Hey Guys,
I'm looking to buy some headers that will work with my LQ4 motor without hanging too low. I have a 3/5 drop on my 72 cheyenne, and don't want to worry about them hitting the speed bumps.

I was looking at DT headers, but they aren't ready with the big tubes. I came across some schoenfeld headers. http://www.schoenfeldheaders.com/LS1-TRUCK.htm
These headers come with a 1 3/4 primary, the DT headers do not.
Has anyone used these headers??

Thanks for your input.

Re: Header Option

I went with the DT headers and they fit perfectly. I wouldn't rule them out if I were you.

Those look nice with a good price. I can't tell for sure if they'd fit my 2wd '84. Hopefully someone posts some experience.

Re: Header Option

I am running Edelbrock headers for the 98-02 F-bodies in mine. But, my motor is set as far back as possible. The passanger coil pack just about touches the firewall (maybe 1/16" away).

Re: Header Option

This is when I first put it together in Feb/07.. No tubes were dented. But before I put it all together (slip fit collector) I did put a piece of pipe inside each primary tube and moved them over a little so it would clear the lower section of the frame rail.

Re: Header Option

I would like a full length header but I can't find a set for a 47-54 Chevy AD with a LS set up. I am running a lq4 6.0. I have a new set of Hooker Super Comp block hugger but rather have a long tube header. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Re: Header Option

Bark the headers part # 2289-1HKR. with a 4l80e it will require, trimming on fly wheel cover and the passenger side ear on trans missions and its close to the but I'll get some kind of heat wrap for the starter and the factory plug wires don't fit so I'm going to try some msds, the headers have clearance on the frame and they hang above the bottom of the frame

Do you think they would fit a 52 frame? I can't find a full length header for my truck.
