Re: Check out my new project!
so th gas gauge is about 1/8 tank off and today i wasnt paying attention and i ran it out of gas. I put some gas in it (approx. 5 gallons form a can) and i drove it about 5 miles and it stalled at a stop sign and took about 1 minute of intermittent cranking to get it to fire up. once it fired up i reved it up to about 4k rpms to kinda clean it out and it idled fine and got home without anymore problems. It kinda worries me that it stalled, could it just be form me takin the tank so ow that it sucked up some nasty dirt from the tank and theres just some in the lines?

Re: Check out my new project!
my gas guage was the same way on my 79 when i got it becouse when it got on empty it would cut off (i figgured it would have some reserve like my 77 dose) well i drained the tank and i had 2 gallons of water in the tank so i got as much water as i could out of the tank then i poured a bottle rubbin alcohaul and sloshed it around, poured it out and then i put another bottle and did it again and i havent had no more trouble with it. hope this helps a lil

Re: Check out my new project!
i see in the original post it says C-10 so to verify thats 2wd right? i know the c means 2wd but just making sure it is, reason being, and i do this hesitantly because i know only supporting members are allowed classifieds, however i am posting this to help you not me. im not even sure if itll work but shortly i will be pulling a 44k mile tbi 350 and 2wd 4spd manual out of an 87 1 ton cab n chassis, and putting the carbed 350 out of my 86 and a th400 i have laying around in it. long story longer i am doing this so i can put a t56 i bought, in my 86 swb. with out buying a special adapter flywheel for $400 to enable an lt1 t56 to work with a two piece rear main seal block. long story longer i will have a 2wd 4 spd manual tranny ill need to find a home for.
btw heres a question for all of you, will this trans even work on a 2 piece rear main seal block or not with out a special flywheel? |

Re: Check out my new project!
I bet that once you've driven a big block Chevy with a blower on it, you won't want to go back to Ford.

Re: Check out my new project!
i have no idea what its even worth. pm when youre looking at putting one in and ill p you once its pulled if i decide to go that route which i pretty sure i will, we can figure somethign out maybe youve got some parts i need who knows. but great deal on that truck. hard to touch any thing for under 800 bucks anymore regardless of year make model, and btw welcome to the right side of the tracks, its such a bad situation for todays youth when they get wrapped up with that F*** crowd

Re: Check out my new project!
Should bolt up regardless of engine year.
Duct Tape, I saw this thread and couldn't think of anything to say except that I hate you... Still mostly all I can think of. $100? That's so awesome. I'm 3-4k into my truck and it doesn't look half as nice as yours! Amazing find, and i can't imagine how freaking awesome that's going to be to drive once you get it all done! |
