Re: overdrive question

that's hilarious.... but seriously, (ok, not seriously, but slightly more seriously) what difference are you talkin bout? RPM drop when comparing .73 to .63? What was your prev trans - am guessing it didn't have a .73 o/d, I don't think i've ever heard that ratio for an o/d - if you had any old pg, th350/400 or 3 or 4 speed - final drive was likely 1:1. But sounds like your question is about comparing .73 to .63 overdrives - so here's a bit of useful trivia:

Don't know your tire size - but assuming you have ABOUT 27" tall tires (and with the 3.73's):
at 55 mph:
1.00 final drive = 2550 rpm
.63 o/d = 1610 rpm
.73 o/d = 1865 rpm

at 70 mph:
1.00 final drive = 3250 rpm
.63 o/d = 2050 rpm
.73 o/d = 2370 rpm

Hope that helps. If your tires are taller/shorter - then decrease/increase the rpms a bit.
