LS Experts --- What are these holes for??
I'm at a loss for remembering what bolted into these holes?
Was it just a plug for these holes in the rear of the heads? Thanks!

Steam vent. Some years have the rear holes blocked off and just use the front others use them all.

those don't looked plugged....so your missing a piece of tubing (steel?) that connects the 2 holes or the 2 heads ...and then one side has a nipple on it for a hose to connect to the cooling system.

You guys are absolutely right --- I had plugs in these rear holes and a steam line in the front.
