Let me tell you about Abruzzi Transmissions...
As some of you are aware, I was in the process of converting from a stock 4L80E to a built powerglide with manual v-body and T-brake. I decided to go with Abruzzi after talking to a few others. Trans and 8" N20 verter were both bought from Abruzzi and were in to me with in 2 weeks. It took me a few months to find the time to get it put in the truck.
I got everything together and took the truck for a ride. There is a test loop I have that is 8 miles long and in a big circle of 3 country roads, great spot if something goes wrong, and that it did. I got about 1 mile away before getting on it in first, verter went to 6k and reved it up to 7k and shifted to second. Noticed a lightning fast super firm shift (The 80E never knocked my teeth out like this thing). Stopped at the post office another 1.5 miles away. Drove about 1/2 mile and put it on the brake. Verter went to 6k (was supposed to be 5,200), problem number 1. Drove away softly for about another mile when I got on another road. Got up to about 55-60mph and stood on it in second. Got up to about 90mph and heard a good break/pop. Reached for the key but the motor was dead, stuck it in N and stopped. Looked things over real well, couldn't find a thing wrong (was thinking a rod let go with the motor stopped). Turned it over and it fired up but I had no 1-2-R, problem number 2. Towed it home and called Marco the next morning (keep in mind, I am in California and he is Ohio). I went over the issues with Marco and he asked some questions such as verter spacing ect. Gave it all to him and he said, "Sounds like the pump broke. Well the bad news is you have to pull the trans and send it back to me. Good news it's on my dime both directions and I'm fixing it for free. Call me when it is out and on a pallet and I will get you the info for Fedex." Really, he is paying freight both ways and fixing it. I pulled it out and called him. Had a fedex label with in an hour or so. Trans and verter both went back to him on his dime. He got it apart and told me the pump was definately the issue. Restalled the verter, fixed the trans and even put a speedo assembly in that I requested and offered to pay for. Trans showed up a week later. Just got done driving it around a little and everything seems perfect. Verter is 5,200 on the money, super firm 1-2 shifts that are extreamly fast. I am a very happy buyer and very happy to see a shop stand behind their work. I will definately buy another Abruzzi trans when I need one.

That's awesome, great to see shops stand behind their work with handshake warranties.

I was wondering if you had it back yet. Marco is a good dude and builds some nice stuff when it come to race tranny's. When are you going to the track?

Jimmy,
I need to get the cage done first, so probably not until September.
