I'm gonna move this over to the Engine/drivetrain side of the house, where you will get the right eye's on it for ya.

Re: engine help please

"Anti-theft devices may also be used to deactivate the fuel pump if the vehicle security or anti-theft system detects any type of tampering associated with vehicle theft. In the case of many General Motors vehicles, the engine will momentarily start and stall if the anti-theft system deactivates the fuel pump relay. Other anti-theft-related problems include defective ignition keys or key detection systems in the ignition switch" - Counterman Magazine

Read this: http://www.counterman.com/Article/82...y_systems.aspx

It will help you understand the modern fuel system and hopefully point you in the right direction... or hint you of a possible cause.

Good luck

Re: engine help please

The not turning off is going to be a wiring issue. The trans control could be wiring or in the computer tune. Who did your harness and computer?

Re: engine help please

it is all different since your engine came from a van, I think the vans were the same up to 06, so 99-05 was DBC I believe. VATS does need removed and then it should run, the tire size is for the PCM to be able to talk nice to the trans and the other way too. how much are they charging you if ya dont mind be asking?

Re: engine help please

so you agree that my o3' pcm won't work with my 05' eng/tranny? the pcm was sold to me by a guy here on this forum who WAS my friend...i think he knew it wouldnt work because he disappeared soon after he sold it to me....so sounds like i need a oem pcm, then have it flashed to my specs, as long as it's a 05' 6.0/4l80e trans?

It will work. The only problem substituting a 03 pcm with a 05 PCM is Drive by wire (DBW) which 05+ have. The vans seem to be a little behind on everything and didnt get DBW until 06.

Re: engine help please

As long as your throttle uses a cable, you're good and it will work fine.

I would start by calling the people that did your harness and tell them whats going on. In order for your engine to stay running a relay has to be wired wrong. Then worry about the trans issue.

Re: engine help please

I may be off base here but I think you need to have your ECM flashed to your engine VIN #. Then everything should mate up (once the VATS is removed).

(The old rule of engine swapping, make the engine think it is still in the car it came out of)

Anyway, that is what worked for me.

Good luck,

TR

Re: engine help please

Wiring harness needs to be reviewed and all the hook ups to that harness.
You can make a DBW wire PCM into a DBC but you have to change somethings on the harness; ie it will now need TPS and IAC inputs.
is this a MAF or SD set up? do you have IAT input? ETC input?
