'70 C/20 Funky color combo

Bought a truck yesterday with a different color combo, it's yellow [possibly grapefruit] and green with green interior. Paint on the cab/clip is OG but the bed was replaced at some time. I will know more when I get it home and cleaned up Sat., SPID is completely illegible and chances of a build sheet are unlikely as the seat has been recovered. Was a big block originally but now sports a good running 350/TH400, factory A.C. blows cool,PS, PB, overall not a bad truck. I'll be putting the 8 lug Turbines that I scored at Pomona for $40 on this one, these suckers are cherry pie.

I've seen grapefruit with medium olive before, but not on a '70. I thought grapefruit was a '71-'72 color... Anyway, I like it!

Re: '70 C/20 Funky color combo

The Light Yellow/Medium Olive Poly is like a combo offered for the older guys who grew up with the '50s combos. The Yellow/Green 2-tone was a hit back then. White was the standard accent color but, with Dark Olive Poly and Light Yellow,Medium Olive Poly was offered as accent and could be reversed. There were other exceptions made, but only Medium Olive Poly was offered as a standard RPO alternative to White and only with the two colors. Trucks are out there, but not a real common sight. Those Turbines will lot "Boss" on that C/20

Re: '70 C/20 Funky color combo

Got it home and started cleaning, not OG big block I never looked at the fender emblems. What threw me off was the BB fan shroud and BB engine stands, I don't know why as this is the OG engine and does not appear to have ever been out. Score on the Z/28 valve covers, they will be going on my '72. Not an ounce of rust on the cab, dash has not been cut or drilled. Straightened out the grille and new chrome bumper, used dash pad, carpet on the way w/sill plates, lost the lumber rack and saddle tanks, had a better tailgate just had to sand off the black primer. I have the missing A.C. stuff [under dash], thought I had the bed trim but the one I have is for a Longhorn. Gotta find 26 more lugnuts to install the Turbines. This sucker has a rear sway bar, I will try to get pics tomorrow so Special K or another guru can tell me if it is factory or not also has funky overloads [coil rear]. Engine runs like a dream and trans is tight, A.C. blows strong but may need a can of R-12 to be cold. Everything on this truck works, lights, brakes, P.S., wipers, doors shut solid, windows/wind wings, gauges etc. Probably gonna flip this one.

That green interior sure makes for some funky in that combo. Your dog seems to like it. Anymore,I like the funky stuff all the more. I think about any parts or tire place can get you those. Or,did you mean "find" as in amonst your stuff. The only sway bars I know of from the factory were on Stepvans.

Re: '70 C/20 Funky color combo

Here's the sway bar and after getting a good look it's definitely aftermarket, my dog loves trucks and was pissed when I had the seat out. The rear tires are 33x12.5/16.5 and are in good shape [the other one popped a bead when PO aired down the 16.5's] the front [of which I only have one] is 31x10.5/16.5.The rims are in excellent condition and will be an easy cleanup. I really scored on these wheels, I couldn't get the money out of my pocket fast enough when the guy said $10 a piece. It pays to walk Pomona early Sat.

Re: '70 C/20 Funky color combo

I'm guessing that's a Hellwig or Addco. I've never seen an actual trailing arm version, but that's my guess.

The sway bar looks identical to the Hellwig I put on my '69 CST-20 in 1971. Coincidentally, I just removed it two days ago. Still have the receipt from Hasty Alignment in Santa Ana, CA.
