Has anyone eliminated their "chromed plastic" on their interior?

I'm considering stripping mine and painting them matte black. vents, trim, door handles, and window controls....has anyone else done this or something similar. Pics please if you got'em.

I place on replacing the door trim inserts with 1/4 stained oak. I will be doing the same with the rear side panels too. No pics yet though, have yet to get that far :S

Get some purple power degreaser from the parts store and soak the plastic parts in it. When its fresh it takes the aluminum plating off quick.

Experiment first. Don't trust me...

I'm interested in this as well. Mine are pretty beat up and could use a good coat of paint.
