Installation of auto trans
I am currently doing a frame off on a 66 GMC Truck, short stepside. I want to change it to a auto trans from a manual 3 speed. Does anyone know what all I will need to change on the frame and any recommendations on what to go with. Also would you put it back to Chevy stuff seeing as to how there is alot more chrome and things avaliable for the Chevy.

Re: Installation of auto trans
There are more knowledgeable members here regarding the trans swap. As for changing it to a Chevy I’d suggest no. I always loved two grilles – the GMC and the 63 C10. Not much of a fan of the 64-66 grille, so making one more truck look just like all the others wouldn’t seem like an improvement to me.
But then again it’s your truck. Do whatever makes you the happiest, and welcome to the forum. |
