1988 GMC K1500 for parts

This is a cut and paste from my local craigs list ad. Lots of people want parts, but I don't have time to part it out. I'm absolutely not firm on the price. I'll take cash, cash and trade or pure trade. I've got about two more weeks and I have to move so if you want a great deal jump!

________________________________________________________________

1988 K1500 for sale or trade. This truck is NOT running and for rebuild or parts. Clean Indiana title. You will need a trailer to haul this one away. I do not have a trailer so I CAN NOT move it for you. This truck was my daily driver until the engine recently blew up. I was maintaining the truck with the expectation that I would drive it for a long time. I'm moving out of state and have changed vehicle plans. My loss is your gain...

Truck:
1988 GMC K1500
Complete truck WITHOUT BED. NO BED INCLUDED WITH TRUCK.
The odometer reads about 260,000
The truck was my daily driver until one year ago. At that time the crank shaft broke and I parked it with the intention of replacing the engine.
When I parked the truck everything worked. The truck is listed AS IS now. I will not guarantee that everything works today.

Engine:
I have about one and a half engines for this truck.
First engine is the one that came out. 1988 5.7 TBI. No block, no heads, no crank. All other parts included.
Second engine is a 1990 5.7 TBI. I bought this as a runner with 130,000 on it. I disassembled it to clean and replace gaskets. Complete.

Transmission:
700R
I had this transmission professionally rebuilt by Tony's Tranny's in Whiteland Indiana.
The transmission has about five thousand miles on it.
Paid $900

Drive axles:
I had both front and rear replaced professionally by Southeastern Auto Repair of Indianapolis
This truck had 3.42 gears from factory.
It now has 3.73 gears rebuilt by Southeastern Auto Repair.
14 bolt rear.
Paid $800.00

Body:
The truck has Indiana rust.
The cab corners need replaced.
The drivers door bottom is rusted.
The dog house has no rust.
The passenger door has no rust.
The windshield is cracked.
The truck has a 3 inch body lift. Complete minus a couple of bed bolts.
3 inch block lift in back and the torsion bars are tweaked.
Overall the truck is lifted about six inches.

Interior:
The truck came with a 60/40 seat.
I bought a later model bucket setup and installed.
The colors match and the buckets are super comfortable!
Nice console.
Stereo is Pioneer.
Under the back seat is a speaker box with two 10 inch speakers built in.
Two amps under the drivers seat.
The stereo worked great when I parked it. Again this is AS IS.
A/C works, but will need charged.
Everything worked when I parked it.

Tires/Wheels:
BF Goodrich radials. About half tread. Good driving tires.
American Racing rims. They need polished. One is new.

Ok. Obviously I'm attempting to be as honest as I can about the overall condition of this truck. This will be a terrific build project or parts truck. I obviously have much more invested than I am asking. I WILL NOT PART THIS OUT. I don't have time as I'm moving out of state. If you want the tires and rims great. The price is $1000 and you MUST take the entire truck with you. If you want the engine great. The price is $1000 and you MUST take the entire truck with you. I think you get the idea.

Here is the bestest of the best part! I'm not cash poor. I just need to get rid of this truck. If you have something of equal value to trade let me know. I'm moving out of state so I don't want your project vehicle. I don't want your couch or refrigerator. If you have firearms or tools or whatever I can take with me and sell later we can talk.

This is a two week great deal offer. If it doesn't sell I'll store it and deal with it later. Again my loss your gain.

Thanks for looking and I hope we can make a deal!

Re: 1988 GMC K1500 for parts

Bad time to try and sell a parts truck i guess.

Ok. How about half price?

$500 or trade for something you can put in the mail to Texas. My friend may also be able to deliver the truck local to the Indy area for a small fee.

Take the parts you want and scrap the rest. You can't lose!

Re: 1988 GMC K1500 for parts

No interest. Tough times to sell a parts truck in Indiana...

Ok folks. We are real close to scrap prices here.

So I'm at parting it out. If there is something you may want let me know. The prices will be super low, but don't bother if you want to offer less than scrap prices...

The other thing is I will not ship anything. If you want a part you will need to go to Indianapolis and remove it yourself. Sorry, but I don't live in the state any longer and I won't expect my friend to do it for a just a few bucks.

I really can't believe this has zero value. I spent thousands on these parts. Oh well...
