Truck down!

Truck down for A/C failure!! 383 miles away from home.

Drove back at night most of the way with a bypass pulley. $34 at Orielly's.

Rebuild time. A new crossflow condensor will be installed. I've had this for almost a year. It's going in now.

Other upgrades: closing the gap between the condensor and radiator, 0.67 orifice tube, heater core bypass connection, and possibly fan/shroud upgrade. I'm considering installing a 454 shroud with a mechanical fan. Fan would be plastic off a late model truck. Later model fans are lighter and have more blades. IE: My Jimmy has an Explorer fan. It works better in 90+ degree days than the stock fan. I may try to test fit the Explorer fan on my truck. Here are pictures comparing the two fans.

950 mile round trip. The A/C and cruise control were the only problems. The cruise problem is probably a bad switch. I have a replacement to try. The A/C will take longer to fix.

Can anyone tell me the diameter size of a fan shroud? Do SB and BB use the same shroud?
