90-91 elec. speedo in '88 K5 manual
Before I drive myself insane trying to search for five hours on how I could achieve this, I figured I'd make a thread here.
My plan is to install a '90-'91 electronic speedometer in my '88 K5, which came factory with a TBI 350, SM465 trans, and NP208 transfer case. The original speedo has a trip odometer as well. Last year I installed a clock cluster in it, but kept the trip speedo. Now, I know that the housings are totally different [because I got a cool clock from a Saab that I wanted to replace the old broken Quartz clock with. I also plan to [because I already have everything for it] swap out the SM465 for another rebuilt one with an NP205 T-case. If I have to stay with the housing that doesn't have the clock, so be it. Any suggestions?

What are you trying to accomplish with the electric speedometer? You will need a VSS and DRAC from a 90-91 to make it work.

Re: 90-91 elec. speedo in '88 K5 manual
Basically just as an upgrade. My original reason for getting the cluster was for the brake/seatbelt/check engine/4x4 lights. They look cleaner than the older style, where the whole thing lights up rather than just the lettering. I figured the speedometer would be cool as well.
I was trying to skip out on getting parts from a '90-'91 Sub though, one reason is because the cluster I got was already pulled out and sitting in the back of a newer Town Car for some odd reason, and the other is because I have a standard trans, even though that little optical sensor is behind the old speedometer
