Junkyard parts needed to lower a 67 Long bed? First time suspension modder*
Looking to lower my new 67 c10 with parts I can pull myself from the local yard. Everything minus new KYB shocks is the goal. The truck is in rough shape and is a weekend driver/ grass clipping hauler. I was looking for a more aggressive stance while maintaining drive-ability.
This is my first time ever lowering a truck, usually I am lifting them but this time I decided to go another direction. What do you guys think? TJ rear coils? Cut a coil off the front? Ditch the bumpstops? The tank is in the cab. 305/TH350 combo. |

nice truck. i got a 86 and dont know how much the same the suspension is but i took all but two of the liefs out of the rear and cut the bottom coil off the front spring and everything seems to b working fine. the truck is noticably lower. one thing you might want to do tho is maybe stay with three liefs in the back tho, mine realy dont have much load carrying cappability anymore lol

Don't ever "ditch the bump stops", they take the harsh bang out of the suspension at it's maximum travel. Not only is it uncomfortable, it will be very likely that you will break something. Ball joints, control arms, even the frame itself can all be negatively affected by the metal to metal banging.
