Cat. Question.

I saw a half ton truck for sale a few days ago and stopped to look at it. I crawled under there to take a look and the cat. was freakin huge. It was like a foot wide and a foot and a half long. Was that the stock cat. because I've never seen one that huge before.

I think the "pancake" style cats are stock. I had mine taken off a few years ago and it was that shape. The one they replaced it with was more cylindrical.

All I think when I see something like that on a vehicle for sale is "what else has the owner let go?"

just because it has an original cat doesnt mean that its bad. i've had more than one complete factory exhaust system on my trucks, and they were fine. i just decided to ditch them in favor of true duals and headers.

Actually that truck was in pretty bad shape. The flexplate was just sticking out with no cover over it and it was leaking alot of trans. fluid and oil.
