Re: Vin missing

Take it to the DPS, you have the title right? look on the fram right below the brake MC, there is another set of numbers there, it will be the last 8 of the VIN I believe.

If that is all correct, you have the title, talk to the TX DMV and tell them you want another VIN for it, they can help you.

Also have the PO write a statement as to his ownership of the truck, dates etc, also get that notarized.

Re: Vin missing

there is also a vin riveted to the floor at the the corner where the firewall and footwell meet, I cant remember which side but I think its the passenger side. its a little block of metal with rounded edges and the VIN stamped in. Could be later trucks, but its on my 65.

Re: Vin missing

Thanks for all the info the tag is definetly gone i can see the rivet holes and here is no stamping under the hood near the control arm while removing the front clip this weekend i noticed the frame has been broken and welded betwen steerin box and control arm and the frame is actually welded to the crossmember in one spot. I bought this truck from a friend he isnt a car guy so i dont think he actually culd have known what a turd he was sellin it still has potential if i culd just get a titled cab or tag. On yeah and i think its a 62 not 63 judging by the grill and the large x shaped brace in the frame. Inhavent seem any 63's pics with this frame brace. Sux to b on a budget amd find out u waisted ur money .
