Dash Panel Replacement
Has anyone tried using the 69 up dash panel with gauges on the older 67, 68 truck. I tried and the wireing must be different. Do you have to change the Wireing Harness also ?
Any Ideas ? Thanks Charlie |

You'll have to clarify some. If you are replacing an idiot light dash with guages, then the wriing is different. These dashes require different harnesses to work properly. You can re-wire the existing one, I think there is a guide at www.gmcpauls.com.
If you were swapping apples for apples, the only difference is the light and wiper switches are both on the LH side. Consequently, the length of the wiring for wiper switch is not the same.

Yes, I am swapping the idiot lights for gauges. Any idea if I just need the inner harness or do I need to switch the whole thing ?
Thanks Charlie |

If you already did this, your fuel guage is probably toast.
It was pretty fun watching it spin though wasn't it? |

Well, I know mine fried as soon as I turned on the ignition switch, and a dude I know refused to listen to me and did the exact same thing, with the same results.I might have been cranking it over when it actually fried, but either way.
