Window Removal? ....Help?

I'm struggling to get glass out of door ('59 Apache).
I got the channel disconnected at bottom of wing and the sliding glass off the regulator but can't get either piece out of slot in door.????
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Re: Window Removal? ....Help?

It's been 10 years since I tore down my doors. I think you have to drop the regulator all the way down and turn the glass inside the door to get it out. My photos show me taking the wing assembly out before the main glass, so that might be the sequence too. Hopefully someone with more current experience or better memory will chime in. Thinking about it, I replace one of my door windows in the 70's and did not have to pull the vents, so I think its just a matter of getting the regulator mechanism out of the way. I thing the opening mechanism has to be removed too.

orrie is correct; first try the vent window out you may have to turn it 90 to slide out
you could also put a dowel or piece of 1 by @ the bottom of thr door to keep the window up while compleatly removing the window -- be careful with this ya might need another hand to keep the window up good luck

run the door glass all the way down. unbolt the division bar at the bottom and unscrew it at the top. work the division bar/windwing out, you'll have to turn it sideways to get it out. then roll the window up, you'll have guide it some. unbolt the lower window frame from the channel that runs on the rollers and lift it out. I think. It's been a few years. Well, quite a few, like 22.

Thanks fellas, I'll give it another try. Door is lying flat so should be easy.
Now to try to find someplace to store "more parts".
I better take some pix too, it could be a while till I get back to reinstall.
Thanks again!
