Finally found a new toy.
Well I finally found a project worth buying, my work is definately cut out for me but not a bad score I don't think for $500. It's a 63 Chevy stepside. Has some rust in the bottom of the fenders, the doors, and cab corners is all I can see so far haven't got her home yet waiting in my buddy to show up with the car hauler. It's got a newer 350 engine and trans out of another pickup, which was running and driving when it was parked in 2004.

As an owner of a '63 Stepside myself, I whole heartily agree with the other comments. Post some photos!

Re: Finally found a new toy.
Well I screwed up again it's actually a 60 after getting the title and talking to the registered owner. The "owner" is actually a 15 year old who got the truck from his dad, I met the kid and step dad (a guy I worked with) to look at the truck. They didn't know what year it was. I assumed it was a 63 because of the knee knocker cab and coil rear end, but then later as we were waiting to load it up and I was looking at my lmc catalog figuring up my need/wish list. I realized the 4 headlight front end was only 60-61 Chevys. So after going and getting the title from dad I found out it was a 60, with a rear suspension off a 65. Anyway enough about that hear are some pictures.

Re: Finally found a new toy.
Here is the engine as it sits, hopefully I can tinker on it later this week and get her purring again.

Re: Finally found a new toy.
I was admiring the mopar radiator .. then I got to thinking , it has a 62 and up hood ...Does it have coils or torsion bars in the front??? You never know , could be a mix of years ...........

Re: Finally found a new toy.
That sure looks like a nice straight truck, especially for the price. Although the lower heater block off isn't original, it does appear to be a 60-62 firewall.

Re: Finally found a new toy.
It probably has quite a few parts off different stuff on it, in the pasture near it were a 65 long bed, a early 80's dodge, and mid 70's chevy. I'm guessing the hood and rear end are off the 65, the radiator out of the dodge, and engine out of the chevy. That stuff doesn't really matter to me though because I'm not going stock.

I figured since my truck is all kinds of pieces together I figured I would take a picture of the front suspension and see if you guys could tell me what year it's from. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Finally found a new toy.
From what I can see your front suspension is stock '60-'62 C10. Does it have the torsion bars instead of coil springs?
