dude make it a 4x4 put bout 16 inch lift on it and some 48 in swampers u know the new ones they got out now. dude i looked at the pick of it lowered not being a dick but if u leave it black and a 3/4 ton its going to look like butt. but if u make it a 1/2 ton with a bad ass gloss black paint with some ghost flames that would have to be a slamed to the ground wheeles not even on the pavment any more frame dragging truck then.so paint it slam dont paint it lift it to the sky when u get that tall it dosent matter what your paint looks like nobody can see it.

to slam, or not to slam
ok heres the thing.. thats a classic truck in my eyes, and i would never lift a classic truck. MAYBE lower it, or put it on airbags.. but i wouldnt slam it completely because thats just impractical..
i am lowering my trucks to where its a resonable height to get over speed bumps and such, but low enough to get the handling characteristics i want out of it, and that mean look too. :-) its really all personal preference and whats practical for your lifestyle. also.. i dont know you, so this might or might not help my arguments so far.. but why would you lift a truck if your not going to take it off road?! .. and to flip that one around, why would you slam a truck if your not going to be rolling it on sunny days with the windows down holler'in at the ladies, or leavin rubber as a signature everywhere you go?!

Hey BigBlack68, I have the same problem as you. Mine's a 69 C20 long bed, and I don't just want to keep it stock. I love the look of a slammed truck, but it seems like a lot of work and $$ for a 3/4 with rear springs. I also like the look of a lifted pick up. I'm not looking to go off road with mine, just like to look down on others I drive by. I can't decide...I think I've only seen one pic of a lifted 2WD on this board.

If you using your truck to haul stuff whats the point of lowering it?Lift it!Everyone lowers their 67-72 2WD's.

and theres good reason for everyone to be lowering it... not to mention air bags in the rear and you'll be able to have up to 3 times more weight than normal suspension. Depending on what you buy ofcourse... and then if its your thing, you can slam the truck or raise it to a certain degree for speed bumps or w/e.. etc..

If you don't wanna change your tires, I would say leave it the way it is. It looks great and I bet it can haul a ton of crap already.
