I had the mr. gasket, it worked for one day and didn't work the next morning... They list an airtex electric pump as a stock replacement. Ive been using one of those for a year and its been just fine with my goodwrench 350.

I just got the stock AC Delco fuel pump for my 83 454 and it is fine. I like OEM when I can get it - not much more than aftermarket cost when you buy at online vendors with free shipping.

well mechanical is reliable i agree. However.mechanicaly its horrible. The force required is great. We live in a world full of new technology why continue to use 60's technology??

I run a Mr gasket electric form autozone. I am on my second one but only do to me over tightning the hose barb and cracked the case. very easy to do so if you change the barb size stop soon as it is tight. Other than that have no issues with the pump. I get a steady 4.5-7psi out of it. I have a 350 bored .40, alum heads, cam, gears, allum intake, and 9.5CR. No issues here.

Oh yea, she's got plenty of power. I did burn one out due to a plugged pre filter but it took a lot of abuse before It finally went out and then I relized what the problem was the whole time. I was looking all over for an electrical problem without even thinking to check the filter before the pump since it was still pretty new at the time. My truck sat for probably a long time before I got it so the tank is probably full of garbage, dropping it to check and replace the strainer is on the list of to dos.
