Under Dash Mounted Master Cylinder??

Anyone have one of these setups on their truck? (specifically 47-53)

Looks like a good idea, filling would be a challenge, but probably no worse than an under cab one without a hole in the cab floor.

Have not found a direct kit for our trucks, anyone know of one? Didnt see one the CCP website but found this tech article on 55 and up:

No experience with it, but gotta say I sorta like it.

But I do think you might have more issues with it behind the dash than on the frame rail under the floor.

All kinds of crap in the way, like the cowl vent (if applicable), defrost ducting, and wipers, just to name a few.

i was considering the kugel stuff for an under-dash power disk setup on a 66 C10 so I could leave a dummy single pot master under the hood. BUT, at the time, was wishin I had an AD truck so I could just stuff a kit under the floor and call it a day.

Since there are several mfgrs that make under cab power dual masters, why not just use the under the floor approach? There are proven kits by CPP, etc, specifically for this.

Interesting - in the end, I decided to not go under the dash due to space limitations (in my 66)

Plan is to run true duel exhaust and the master may get in the way/be near heat if under the cab.

Dont want it in the firewall, plan to do a smooth firewall.

Looks like a neat concept, hoping someone chimes in that has done one and what the experience was like.

Besides the things mentioned, wiring for the gauges and what not also is behind the dash.

I have one. They work great. I fill it with a squeeze ketchup bottom with a tube on the on the of it.

Look at the ones from scotts hotrods. They make the best ones with bushings and whatnot. The kugel ones are just a bolt in a tube.

I used a kit from ECI but had to modify it a bit, moved it back out of the way of everything, used the stock brake arm and hole in the toe board
Both of these chassis are 53 AD and ECI brake kits

The under the dash kit is the same idea I had as I will also be running true dual exhaust and the truck will be air ride. So I will have have very limited space under the cab and between the frame rail. I had not seen this kit but I know Summit Racing has a similar kit that I was looking at.

Do you have any pictures of the installation and process? Looking at Scotts web site they just sell the pedal assembly, less master cylinder/booster. What master/booster did you run?

If I was running that setup I would want to install it first and then build the truck (underdash part) around it.

With my creaky old joints I can't flex around enough to service it anymore so it would be out for me but it might be great for younger guys who are able to work up under the dash.

I was thinking about running a hydro boost and moving the master cylinder back further similar to what Solidaxle showed.

Forum Member price is 360.00 complete with master/booster , our pedal assembly is complete with the brake mounting pad (we don't charge an additional 20.00 for like some) we use bronze bushings, and our assembly is 100% TIG Welded
we also offer remote fill reservoirs the dual machine finish is 110.00 pol. add 20.00 and the master lid is going to run 50.00 with the seal

Is it so that the remote resevoirs must be mounted higher than the master cylinder (logically)? If so, where could you mount one? I've seen some very pretty ones, NO LIMIT has a great polished one, but where to mount one thats higher than the M/C?

our polished remote reservoirs are 130.00 retail and are typically mounted on the firewall when doing a underdash or frame mount assembly

Hey Jon, I'm considering a set up like this for my 59. Do you guys have any pics of installs on a task force truck?
Do you know if I would have to remove the instrument panel to dash brace assembly?
Is there still a chance of still fitting a heater defroster or even an a/c unit with the MC under the dash?

I know this thread is a couple months old but has anyone used one of these setups in a 67-72? I'm interested on one for Jezebel but need to make sure it does not have clearance issues. It looks to me like it may be very close to the wiper motor or where I plan to install the Vintage Air Evap.

Anyone? Perhaps someone from Scottshotrods can chime in.

I have the same questions, not sure yet if I am going to put AC in the truck but would be interested to know if anyone has this setup with AC and what issues they ran into if any.
