Question Two sets of numbers on old engine block...

You know, stamped right in front of cylinder number 2 on that angled surface. On my new block, I have just one number there. On my old block (from Flint Michigan factory as per the top number), there is also a 2nd number stamped just below it and sort of overlapping the bottom of the top number. Any ideas of what this is or why it is there?

I though it might be when someone does a rebuild or something. Anyway, i found it odd.

Re: Two sets of numbers on old engine block...

Second number - generally smaller in size - is a partial VIN of the vehicle. First part tells what the engine was destined for.
