73-81 van suspension?
Is the van set-up, besides the steering box of course, the same as the trucks? I found a 77 Chevy van with a 350/th400 running and driving for $600. I need to upgrade my 68 drums to disc and would also like to get power steering/brake/V8/auto. I figure if the van suspension would work I could get all of this in one swoop.

Re: 73-81 van suspension?
I wish I could tell you for sure,... but I've never done this swap.
I don't even know if the a-arms are the same. Anyone else?

Re: 73-81 van suspension?
I thin the 73-81 are the same but the older ones had car bolt pattern rotors and were much thinner that the trucks not as heavy duty. I know this because i have a napa brake book that covers up to 71 and I researched this when swapping out my truck parts I ended up with 5on5 truck front and 5 on 4 3/4 car rear pattern I wanted them to match and both be car but there was too much involved in changing the front and i had already bought drop spindles

Re: 73-81 van suspension?
On the '72 and newer full size vans, the control arms and out are the same as the pickups. The crossmember itself is wider than one on a pickup. And as you already mentioned the steering box will not work.
