Tire questions

when our trucks were new such as my 82swb. what size tire did they come with off of the carlot. the stickers an stuff are faded on mine and i cant find any info.

i even tried decoding my vin and only got little info

For 1/2 tons they came as small as 195/75 15's and as large as 235/75 15's. i'm thinking of moving back to 195's on the front for mpg reasons.

As for the vin#, if you have a decent chevy/gm dealer they should be able to look it up on the computer and tell you exactly what came with your trucks---tires, rear diff gear etc.

Also, check the service part id sticker in the glove compartment or drivers side inner fender well.

ok thanks for hte info the sticker in the glove compartment isnt there anymore. ill checked the one in the inner fender well

im having a helluva time finding any used 15s right now. lookin for some used ones so i can move the truck

the old tires were 275/60/r15s the front ones still have air the back ones are rotted.

I don't have any pics but there were a few choices, a 15x8 rally wheel, 15x7 aluminum wheel, a wagon wheel, a steel wheel with hubcap, and there may be other choices but thats all I no of

My 85 Scottsdale started life as a 1/2 ton LWB with steel wheels and hubcaps. The door sticker says 205/75-15. Puny little tires for a truck.

well ive called some more places no used tires in the size im lookin for. so this is what ive found for now and ill use my rims.
