LS swap manifolds/headers

been doing a little research on manifolds or headers that are not so expensive. im planning on either a 5.3 or 6.0 for my bagged 68 2wd. also which mounts? can you use the truck manifolds if you modify stock towers or use the ECE or POL mounts? any alternative headers that will fit with little or no modifications? long tubes will be ok as long as they will not be below the frame rails. thanks for the help!!

Re: LS swap manifolds/headers

TBSS (TrailBlazer SuperSport) manifolds will fit with nearly any motor mount. Headers are more tricky, Doug Thorley headers are made specifically for our trucks with an LS swap but several folks on here have been able to use different headers than DT's but there are only a few alternatives. There are a couple great threads in here somewhere about this.

TBSS manifolds here. For the 80e you need to trim about 3/4" off the drivers side trans "wing".

Re: LS swap manifolds/headers

I have the big tube LSx Doug Thorley Headers in stock ready to roll out! These will fit just about any motor mount set up that is out there.

Re: LS swap manifolds/headers

I also run TBSS manifolds, and had to trim the ear the same as USM.
The DT's are the only header I know that fits, although I'm not sure how low down they hang.
