gauge cluster glass
Hi I'm wondering if the glass on the gauge cluster on my 63 is removable seems to be a lot of dust and dirt inside, I would really like to clean it if it's removable

Re: gauge cluster glass
Yes, the gauge cluster can be unbolted to be disassembled. Just be careful lay it face side up when removing the bezel, lens, etc., since the colored lenses of the turn signal and warning lights can fall out. I completely disassembled mine to fabricate a custom polycarbonate lens for my instrument cluster.

Re: gauge cluster glass
If it is the same as my 64, the lettering on the glass will come off if you touch it. I used colored plastic notebook dividers to replace the lenses.

Re: gauge cluster glass
two things to check, vacuum modulator, have you lost the connection and or kickdown cable maladjusted...for a start anyways.

Hi,
find attached a very good explaination for the gauge cluster removal (1964-66). I think for a 1963 it's similary. http://www.earlyclassic.com/tech.asp...64-66%20Chevy2 greetings from Germany Martin |
