fiberglass inner fenders
Has anyone used the www.up22.com fiberglass inner fenders as apposed to steel inners. I am thinking of going all fiberglass front clip, but I am not sure about the inners. Has anyone used them. They will mostly be used for street use. Do stones or rocks go threw them or bust them up? Anyone have experience with them?

I work at a body shop on 18 wheelers for a living, and as bad as I have seen those get rock chipped, id hate to have those on a daily driver.

i personally dont think they will last.. there is a certain amount of flex in them going over potholes etc. i expect they will crack apart

fiberglass is alot tuffer than you think. I've run fiber glass rear fender's on Baja and street VW's, F100's and of coarse my Dually. never had an issue with road debre damage'n a fender.
the 80's G body cars have fiberglass composite type inner fender and they hold up well also. I have 3 G body cars and the only inner fender trouble was from a collision.

is it worth the 5lb wieght savings? i would rather go with a fiberglass hood and fenders and fab aluminum bumper brackets to save weight

I had a set of fiberglass inner fenders that looked to be old, but they were in good shape. It seemed like they held up well. I didn't feel like ripping my truck apart to swap them in, but I wish I would have now. If I come across another set, I'll snag them. I say go for it.

Well after the positive thoughts, I will be going with a complete front fiberglass clip. I have a set of fiberglass fenders and they do appear to be old. The are nice and thick.

The ones I had were probably 3/8" thick or so. They held up well.

Will these hold up to the weight of a battery in the stock locatuion, or do you need to relocate the battery to run the fiberglass inners? Has been a concern of mine, and I just went with the cheapest repro metal ones I could find, when my OE ones rotted away.
