I don't have the Dakota Digital set, but I have had a set from a comapny called CyberDyne. I'm not sure if they are around anymore. They look awesome for show, but they suck in bright daylight. I had a Z-28 with T-tops (double tint) and in mid day sun, I couldn't read them at all.

Later in the afternoon they were cool, and at night they were really sweet. I know the Dakota Digital are supposed to be brighter, but they can't be brighter than the sun....

I have several analog guages and one digital guage (tach) in my truck and I will say that the analog guages are far easier and quicker to read.

Check out www.classicindustries.com they just went down 100+ bucks in price, they also recommend certain colors for daytime view.
