Re: in serious need of help buildning my vortec motor
I'd put flat tops and a zz4 roller cam in it. You could buy those cams from Scroggins Dickey real cheap at one time.(I paid 50.00 for one taken out of a new zz4 motor) I ran this setup in a 71 street strip truck and it ran real well. I topped it with a performer rpm intake and a holley 650 double pumper.

I agree with dj. The cam you were looking at is a zz4 cam, and flattops will really wake it up.

Re: in serious need of help buildning my vortec motor
seen several engine built like this. all ran very strong and were as reliable as a stocker. cam lope wasn't all that aggressive but noticable. i would guess they were legit 300+hp engines
