Re: four link rear end?

It was built ok just more they didn't understand how to set up a 4 link it happens more then you think.I'm from the mini truck world i seen some things that scared me like notches made from pieces of scrap metal the ole mono leaf and even them welding the upper links to the top of the diff its self.If your not that good at welding i would pay someone to do it or look in to the few bolt in kits out there. You could keep the notches just cut the bag mounts off it.

You can lay flat with trailing arms if you do it right.
Here's the rear Dropmember TRAILING ARM kit from Porterbuilt Fabrication:
http://www.porterbuiltfabrication.co...arting-at-1900.

It's posible using products designed together to work together.
The notch and the trailing arms were designed to allow the truck to ride and function perfectly.

Contact Nate here or at his website.

Re: four link rear end?

ive been reading this thread and im getting ready to do the rear of my truck and i want to build it myself also, im very familiar with all the welding and everything ive bin in the body buisness and doing stuff like this for a while.

im just not understanding the geometry of the rear end.

is the axle suppost to roll as it goes up and down or is it suppost to stay level.

is there a certain amount of movement in and out its supposed to have out of the transmission.

i just want to make my own four link but need to understand it all. is there literature on this somewhere i can pick up or someone can post.

thanks,
