Mystery Pieces, please help me identify!

Hi there;

wondering what these two brackets are from....I definitely took them off either a 4L80E tranny or LQ9 motor.

Also wonding if this mystery line circled in red is a fuel return line on my motor, again its a LQ9....but I thought my motor didn't have a fuel return line.

Any help is very much appreciated!

The line I believe is one that sends the unspent fuel vapors back to the vapor canister. you wont need it but you should plug the spot on your intake.

The brackets bolt to the power steering pump....Here is a picture of them on a lm7 should be the same...This is the best pic i had hope this helps

If i remember right the bottom one was holding the part of the wiring harness that ran under the engine. The back one is a support to the block

The line/solenoid is your EVAP emissions. Its there to basically suck any vapors out of the charcoal canister. You can delete it and plug the hole in you intake with a pipe thread plug.

You know what size plug you used? I've seen or read somewhere about a block off plate?

1/4" NPT....I think Its been too long and I cant find the receipt. I'm not aware of a block off for the EVAP. I know there are ones for EGR.

I finally got around to looking at this last night, there is a plug already there that is held in by a bolt beside it. When I pulled the plug it didn't have any threads to screw a real NPT into...

Would I have to tap / die it in? What did other people do?

I agree with all of the above. I believe I left the evap valve in there and just put a rubber nipple cap over it.

I let the plug cut its own threads.

Unless you're really tight on hood clearance just leave it in there. No need to cap it off, the valve is normally closed.

Next question, what did you guys do with this line?? I think it is a vapor return line back into the head??

thats the vaccum line for the brake booster.

So, here's my absolute last question on the subject....where does the vacuum tube connect to on the engine to supply vaccuum to the controls for the heater / A/c / defrost etc etc units?

Could this be it or is there another place?

I've been searching on the forum for the answer to this for a while without finding a clear explanation where the vaccuum draw is on a LS motor.

found this off of an LS1 swap into a z32, looks like the port on the back of the intake mani goes to the hvac controls.

On the passenger side of the intake about 5 inches from the rear you will see a round thing that has what looks like a vacuum nipple in it, it has a little tab on the end of it that's about 1/4 inch, break that off and the fitting is there and has tow tabs that grab the hose to keep it from falling off. I can post pics when i get home if you need them, but you should see it.

Probably doesn't have a diagram because there are no vacuum lines on some trucks. If it's returnless fuel rail it wont have a vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator, and if it had hydroboost then no vacuum power brake hose. What others are there? All HVAC are electric servos now too so nothing there. We've come a long way since the 80's when there was about 6 miles of vacuum hose on a car! Lol
