1 kilometre is .62 or 62% of one mile.
Need more details on the 80 GMC. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 1980 gmc original vs modified HELP!!!
35,000 km = 21,747 miles. If it were mine and I had that Heavy Half with only 21,000 miles, I would ditch the running and mudflaps and polish, detail it up and drive it. Hate to see something that original and that low of mileage changed, but hey it's your truck! What's up with the seat? It looks really tall. Nice truck!!

Re: 1980 gmc original vs modified HELP!!!
thanks, with the seat well haha thats where the happy low mileage 2nd owner story ends, the truck was in a flood so the interior was toast, i had to clean everything ut really good
motor, trans, rearend etc i hd to completely gut the interior, put new carpet and insulatio in, new door panels, dash etc have a new headliner coming from lmc, so the seat is jut sitting in there thats why its so high i dont think i wuld ever buy something like that agin its been alot of work, but i saved her, i culdnt just leave her when i seen her tucked away n the garage looking sad, plus the price rght lol |

Re: 1980 gmc original vs modified HELP!!!
If the motor is OK I would run it keeping the 80 stock and sell the other "hot" motor to finance the ls for your 67.

Re: 1980 gmc original vs modified HELP!!!
Swap the motor and if you decide to sell it put it back in or tell the buyer you have the original low mile motor for it.

Re: 1980 gmc original vs modified HELP!!!
You snagged a nice GMC! *That would be a tough decision with so low of miles. *If you plan on keeping it do with it what you want and have fun with it. *I will say this, I bumped the HP up on mine, it burns a lot more fuel but it made an old pickup fun to drive! *

Re: 1980 gmc original vs modified HELP!!!
The truck is so close to perfect original condition from factory, I would leave everything original. And also fix all the little odds and ends to make it look factory again, but that's just me.

Re: 1980 gmc original vs modified HELP!!!
You want opinions? Heres mine.. Leave the truck alone, its practically new condition. Ditch the ONE running board, mud flaps, and just drive it. Throw on flowmaster exhaust maybe to give you some tone. Sell or trade the sbc for $ or something else.

Re: 1980 gmc original vs modified HELP!!!
haha restorob i dont think i could waste a small block like that lol
and if i do swap motors i would definatly keep the original, possibly even swap clusters so i dont rack up mileage uing the other motor i have dual 3 inch exhaust with flo pro mufflers coming today i got used online for 200 bucks besides drive train i want to keep everything stock with the exception of maybe some mags and a sport bumper for the rear, and no worries the running board and farmer mud flaps are coming off lol jittery guy: i might be happy driving it as it is..... for awhile haha as for 500 bucks that might get you the intake, vlve covers and oil pan lol hick: thats pretty much what i did..... you probably wont believe when i tell you, so hang onto your seats guys, i stole this truck for 100 big ones from an old man and i still feel guilty abut it..... sometimes |

Re: 1980 gmc original vs modified HELP!!!
i was in the same boat as you with my 76 being low mileage original. I built this engine for mine, its sort of "stock looking" with the restored exhaust manifolds, NOS air cleaner and I kept everything black even though I think it should have been light blue for that year. The edelbrock intake manifold is the retro style with oil fill tube in front. Disregard the aluminum valve covers, those are being replaced with 68 camaro steel black covers.
Guess my point is, you can update the engine and still keep it sort of stock looking. Its whats inside an engine that counts.

Re: 1980 gmc original vs modified HELP!!!
I had thought about taking the motor out and freshening it up, make sure everything is ok inside and maybe do a cam swap. When I got the truck I drained everything right away and put fresh fluids in it, motor runs awesome. Would still need to figure out what to do with my other motor if I went that route, buy another truck? Lol the guy I got the gmc from has a 60's chev swb and lwb as parts truck 48 beer and I can have them both p.s. Sorry this is all clumped together sent from my phone

You have the opportunity to pay for a truck with beer? The you need to take that great opportunity.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You have the opportunity to pay for a truck with beer? The you need to take that great opportunity. trust me the thought has crossed my mind many times about getting the two truck but i dont have room for them, he also has a 1966 chev lwb 4x4 i really wanted that but after he sold me the 80 for 100 bucks he decided he needed to make some money and wants a grand for it, would have been a fair price providing it hadnt been flooded and every anel n it wasnt rusted out |
