Re: Might get a 6.0ls

Make sure that 700 will handle the torque. With a decent cam you can put out 450+ tq and the 700 won't handle that IMO.

Re: Might get a 6.0ls

I know my 700 held up for a while and is still alive. A stock one you can prob bet it will fail soon if you drive like me. A built one should hold up. I have a stage 2 rated at 450 tq and i am sure i am close to it and mine is staring to shift soft. Get one built as strong as you can find. These motors are stout.

Re: Might get a 6.0ls

If it breaks it will give me a reason to put a 400 back in it.

Re: Might get a 6.0ls

First you need to determine which flexplate you currently have. if it does not have a spacer on the crank then you can just use

If you have the spacer on the flextplate then you do not need anything other than possibly redriling or elongating some of the holes.

Re: Might get a 6.0ls

I thought the 6.0's bolt up to all th350, 400 and 700r4. Its the 5.3's that need the spacer. Or is the 700r4 like the 4l60 and thats why you need to change the 6.0 set up?

The 6.0 will already have the spacer if it came in front of a 4l80e. If the engine had a 60e behind it then it won't have the spacer.
