Upper a arm bolts?
My upper a arm bolts for the cross shaft aren't threaded far enough down to take out any more shims. They are obviously aftermarket and prob not the best quality. Where can I get new ones? Would like some grade 8 hardware or may e arp grade 8??

The alignment bolts are splined just like a lug stud just way bigger. I wouldn't recommend a bolt because they tend to loosen up over time. I know this because I've done it before. Maybe lmc or classic parts or auto parts store has them. As a last resort get some from the junkyard.

Try a chevy or gmc dealer. They can at least give you a description or GM part number. If they don't have it in stock,

My front is lowered by a three inch drop spring. But I'm changing that to a cut one ton spring and drop spindle setup.
Right now the previous owner had changed the a arm studs with bolts so it's a pain in the a$$ to get done for the alignment shop since they spin unles you have a wrench on the bolt Posted via Mobile Device

When you change to spindles it will require less shims. You wont have to change those out with spindles unless you want to. Mine was shimmed to the max with just drop springs and after adding spindles, and using less of a drop spring it gave it more of a stock alignment as far as the studs go. Youd be able to pick up some stock studs and use them without any issues.

The problem I'm having right now is I have only two shims on either side on both bolts and the camber is only at -.5*. I'm trying for -1* camber and about 7degrees caster with a 16th toe out. Right now I can't achieve those specs the I'd not enough thread on the bolt to take out shims. And even so. Not enough shims to get to that caster without making my tires stick out at the top with a million degrees positive camber
I am moving the lower a arm forward an 3/4 of an inch to get more caster as well Posted via Mobile Device
