Brake Conversion Question 63 c15

Hey everyone. I've just kind of inherited a partial restoration. And I've got a brake question. The truck has been half converted to disc brakes ( last owner bought a 4 wheel conversion, but since the back axle is a 3/4 ton, the kit didn't fit.) So the rear brakes were just rebuilt at drums. I know that in 71 the trucks started having a disc drum system available from the factory, so i was curious if I could just buy a 71 or later master cylinder and hook everything up. Anyone know if that would just bolt on? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum

We need to know if your truck has a brake booster or is it manual brakes. Basically you will need a '71-'87 master for which ever you have, power or manual.

Re: Brake Conversion Question 63 c15

I used the A-arm suspension, spindel with disc brakes and master/booster all from the same truck 1988 suburban. and the rear axle, too.
