Want to paint my frame...what paint to use??
I want to paint the frame on my truck but have some questions. The frame has really minor surface rust on it so im not worried about that. im not planning on blasting it either.
1. What do I use to clean the frame? I dont have access to a power washer/steam cleaner. All i have is a garden hose lol. plus what kinda degreaser is the best to use? 2. Whats the best paint to use? I've heard about ppl using eastwood, por15, rustoleum etc. Also i want to paint my motor while its in the truck. is that possible and whats the best paint to use? 1. i use paint thinner and a rag/brush...just be careful where you apply it. i dont really like spraying water everywhere, it just seems to turn into a bigger mess.
2. por15. just follow the steps. 3. yes it's possible. por15 and lots of masking tape.

<<<Do this! Soak it with Simple Green and pressure blast it at the quarter car wash.

Re: Want to paint my frame...what paint to use??
I used Napa's house brand paint. "Acme", I think it's called. 4:1 with the hardener and shot it through a cheap-o Napa HVLP gun. I used thinner to give the frame a quick wipedown before spraying it. Turned out pretty good.
Of course, I had my frame sandblasted before hand. |
