What does a 2wd 3500 crew srw weigh?

I am going to pick up a truck this weekend with a friends truck and trailer and would like to know about what it weighs before making the 500 mi. round trip.
It's a '87 GMC 2wd 3500 SRW Crew 350 auto
This will be my first square body

if i would have to guess i would say around 7000lbs

81-87 1/2 tons are around 4,000-4,500 lbs if i recall correctly. with a longer frame, heavier springs, bigger axle, bigger wheels, tires, more cab ect. i would guess about another 1000

You would be wrong. My big block, 4x4, air/cruise/power windows/power locks, crew cab tips the scales, iirc, 6,200 pounds.

My crewcab shortbed 4x4 with a cummins in it is 6900.

My 79 1 ton, single cab, single axle, with a 454/400 turbo, dual tanks etc...with each tank 1/2 full,,,,it scaled 5300 lbs. without a driver.

My 89 crew cab dually 2wd comes in at 6300 lbs empty.

Except for the transmission it sounds similar .

trailer is rated for #7000 GVW , so it should be close .

Keep in mind, every trailer GVW that I've seen also includes the weight of the trailer itself on that rating.

7000 GVW tells me it has 3500 lbs. axles under it, (typical open trailer) and the trailer itself can weigh as much as 1,500 lbs. empty. So you technically have a limit of about 5,500 lbs. you can carry on it.

You would actually have to scale the trailer empty to see what your limit is. Some states require it to be scaled before tags can be purchased.

my 04 is a ccsb 4wd diesel its 6980 cant see any of the old trucks hitting more than 6500

Back when I use to work at a truck stop with a CAT scale, I weighed a guys empty 2WD crew cab long bed 3/4 ton. No tail gate and I don't know what motor or how much gas he had in it. It was an 80's truck. It was just a little over 5200 pounds without him in it.

That seems really light for what it is but that scale is dead on.

not really the old cars arent as heavy for some reason my buick weighs less than a new gto.
