87 up fuel sending unit in 81 tank
Does anyone know if the tbi sending unit will fit the older tank I picked up 2 I have an 81 with a 5.3 swap and am running in the so cal desert I don't think its going ro last long in the summer heat anytime you idle for a few mins the pump starts whining bad because of lack of airflow I assume anyways I know my tank dosent have the tray in it but this is just temparary I don't let it get below a 1/4 tank anyways.anyone know which pump to use to put out the 60 psi?

I had an older sending unit in a 87 tank , just never showed below 1/4 tank cuz the float hit the tray . Should work ok

Try AC Delco EP381 - this fuel pump was used in 96 to 00 Vortec equipped Trucks and Vans and suppose to be able to deliver 65 PSI at idle. It has similar dimensions as TBI EP386 in tank pump used in 87 to 94 TBI applications.
